HTC Desire 816 : How to Hard Reset it Easily!

by TDC TeamJune 27, 2016
Many people owning HTC Desire 816 keeps on wondering as to how they can perform a hard reset or factory reset on their device. When a device is hard-reset, it comes into its original state (like it was when unboxed from a brand new device box). All issue, data etc gets wiped up.
If your HTC Desire 816 is having a problem which cannot be solved, you can perform a factory reset (also called a hard reset or master reset).
Disclaimer : All data, SMS, Google Account details, apps etc will be removed once you opt for a factory reset. Hence, take enough backups if possible.

HTC Desire 816 Factory Reset Steps

Performing a factory reset from settings

  1. On your HTC Desire 816, navigate to Settings, and then click on Backup & reset.
  2. On the next menu, click Reset phone.
  3. If you want to delete media, documents, and other data from the phone storage, select Erase all data.
To also delete media and other data from your storage card, select Erase SD card.
  4. Tap OK.

With this, you are done with factory reset on HTC Desire 816.

Performing a factory reset using hardware buttons

If you can’t turn HTC Desire 816 on or access settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the hardware buttons on HTC Desire 816.

Important: The Fast boot option in Settings > Power must not be selected.
  1. Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then press and hold the POWER button.
  2. Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the POWER and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
  3. Press VOLUME DOWN to select FACTORY RESET, and then press the POWER button.

Wasn’t that easy? Thanks for official help from HTC for hardware button based reset.
